Many
traders find it difficult to follow fast-moving
stocks, or simply
don't know what
types of patterns are most likely to win.
Here's a few inside tips you
may find useful:
Two Day Breakout Patterns: wait
for the Nasdaq Composite to start getting over the
prior day's high, or under the prior day's low (DTU
2day high/low breakout mode) before
scanning for
entries. To learn more, try our live room (info).
Use Filtered Percent
Gain/Loss Lists:
I always scan through the
day's percentage gainers/losers lists in both NASDAQ/NYSE
markets, filtering to only look for stocks
trading over 300K shares by 10am, priced over $20/share,
with at least a 2% gap move.

Tape
Reading Volume Breakouts:
Learn how to see when a stock is making a true
breakout by the subtle patterns revealed in
time and sales with increasing volume.
It's not too difficult once
you know exactly what to look for. Hint: make it easier on
yourself by having a large tape that's
a breeze to read.
Having 3+ Monitors Makes it Easier:
By having several monitors displaying charts at the
same time, it greatly simplifies your scanning task, as you can see each
sector and market indicator (trin, e-mini,
indexes) in motion at the same time.
